This might be our favorite part about DoorFotos for classroom doors... you can make them fit the theme of your classroom or lesson plan and change them out anytime you please in 28 seconds!

Chalkboard

A classic tool in classrooms used to be a chalkboard, as most of us know. So, why not put a little twist on this classic and make it a decoration for your classroom door?

This is a great way to add some fun and personality to your classroom. You can use the chalkboard to write messages, jokes, or even quotes that will inspire your students.

Adding a chalkboard to your classroom door is easy - you can buy one that fits the size of your classroom door, and attach it to your door.

Or you can DIY it by painting a portion of your door with chalkboard paint. All you need is a can of blackboard paint and a brush! Simply apply the paint to your door (following the instructions on the can) and let it dry. Once it's dry, you can start writing messages or drawing pictures.

Chalkboards are so versatile too, you could even hang them in other places in the classroom too. Such as other classroom doors, cabinets, and classroom shelves.

Just like that, you have a modern twist on a classic classroom tool to add to your list of classroom door ideas!

Door Sign

Another thing to add to your classroom door ideas is to put up a classroom door sign! This can be used to display the classroom rules, student names, the school year, or anything else you want your students to see when they enter the classroom.

You can either make your own sign or buy one that is already made for your classroom door decorations.

If you decide to make your own, you will need a piece of poster board or construction paper, markers or paint, and string or ribbon.

First, decide what you want your sign to say. Once you have decided on the message, use the markers or paint to write it out on the poster board or construction paper. (You could even make this into an activity for your kids in the class to do with you so they have fun with it and feel ownership for the sign!) Then, cut a small hole at the top of the sign and thread the string or ribbon through it. Tie the string or ribbon to your classroom door handle, and you're done!

Classroom door signs

You could even go online to www.thedoorfoto.com and put your rules list or student names onto a DoorFoto! There are a couple of ways you could go about this too. You could simply pick from one of our customizable DoorFotos and then use their design online tools built into the website to type exactly what you want your sign to say. Or, you could physically draw out or design your classroom rules or student names yourself, snap a picture of it when you are done, and send that photo to them so they can put on a DoorFoto for you!

This would be a super cute, unique, customizable, and eco-friendly option (since all DoorFotos are machine washable and reusable!), for you to decorate your classroom doors with!

Bulletin Board

Another great classroom door idea is to add a bulletin board! Bulletin boards can be used to display important information for your students such as the day's schedule, the school year, or announcements.

You can also use bulletin boards to showcase your students' work. This is a great way to boost their confidence and show them that you are proud of their achievements.

Bulletin boards make great classroom door decorations! To add a bulletin board to your classroom door, you can buy one that is the size of your door. Or, you can make your own by covering a portion of your door with a corkboard.

If you decide to make your own bulletin board, you will need a piece of corkboard, fabric, a stapler, and scissors.

Cut the corkboard to fit the size of your door. Then, cut the fabric so that it is slightly larger than the corkboard. Place the fabric over the corkboard and staple it in place. Trim any excess fabric.

You can now start adding pins to the bulletin board and hanging items from it! Bulletin boards are also versatile like the whiteboard is, so feel free to cover your entire door with one, or you could put some on other classroom doors in your classroom too.

Welcome Banner

Another way to add some personality to your classroom door ideas is by hanging a welcome banner on your classroom door. This is a great way to make your students feel welcomed into the classroom each day.

There are tons of door design options available for purchase of fun welcome banners that say things such as "Welcome to our classroom!", "Ready to learn!" or "Back to School!" on them!

But, you can always make your own too. You will need a piece of poster board or construction paper, markers or paint, and some way to attach it to your door as you please.

First, decide what message you want your banner to say. Once you have decided on the message, use the markers or paint to write it out on the poster board or construction paper. Then all that is left is for you to attach it to your door however you please!

Or, you can take a look at our Motivational Quotes door designs on www.thedoorfoto.com! The kids will love to be welcomed with a motivational quote each time they walk into their classroom. It will surely put a smile on their faces and set them up to have a great day, in a fun way. There are so many classroom door decoration ideas to choose from to add some sizzle to your classroom culture!

Whiteboard

Another great option for classroom door ideas is a whiteboard. Whiteboards are becoming increasingly popular in classrooms, as they provide a versatile and effective way to communicate with students.

You can use a whiteboard on your door to write messages, create diagrams, or even display student work. Adding a whiteboard to your classroom door is also a great way to make it more interactive and fun!

If you want to add a whiteboard to your classroom door, go to a crafts/hardware store and find one that fits the size of your door. Then you just attach it to your door however you feel is best for your door!

You can also find whiteboards that come with magnets, which can be used to hang items from the board and just adds to your classroom door decorations.

Another cute idea is to get a mini whiteboard for each of your students to have their own. They could all be attached to the door together and they could write their own message on it each day! This way the kids can express themselves, have fun, show their ideas, as well as be a part of decorating their classroom doors.

There are so many classroom door ideas to choose from! Just get creative and have fun with it! Your students will love the added personalization to their learning environment.

Sticky Notes

One of our favorite classroom door decoration ideas is to write down your favorite quotes on a sticky note or have the students write down things or sayings that are important to them on sticky notes and throughout the school year pull a couple of these sticky notes off the door and include them in your lesson plan for the week.
